Gotta look at the situation. Cook n I have done yhese things forever. He’s in the “win now” phase with his team, where I’m still a few years away. It makes sense for him given his teams situation. Much like how Stanley cup contenders give up their future assets for current assets

Are you and Edmonton the same person? Nope why? The reason why this would get accepted and something like your last trade with Edmonton wouldn’t is because this actually makes some sense for Colardo, he’s in a win now mode while Edmonton is in no place to compete for the next few years. |

the best RHD available in FA right now is an 80 and he's 30 years old. Montour is entering his prime and a top 4 d-man... I don't even understand how this is an issue right now...
Wasn't expecting any rejects. I thought people could easily see Colorado's position and how he can win a cup, but right now he has only 1 RHD and 5 defensemen... This is a simple hockey trade and trades like this happen regularly... Just look at the Foote for Coleman trade, look where that got Tampa.
Quinn likely won't be effective for another 3-4 years...

You’re definitely able to pull more for Quinn imo, but the trade itself isn’t terrible with the position you’re in.

As far as I can tell its 4-4. When it's this close its probably leaning more to unfair than fair. I usually like to let most deals slide but I don't think the return is enough for a recently drafted 8yh overall pick. I think a little more needs to be added to Montour.

Wow... easy to see that this worked for both teams, and I already made another move around this trade. I guess I'll add a prospect or something. Crazy how me and cook have done this for over 10 years and we're listening to a couple new guys and a guy that thinks Colorado should sign a guy he already bought out...

He needs a RD, so Cole and Scandella don’t do anything for him. Except he can sign one of those guys then trade a previously owned LD for a RD. Additionally, in NHL 21 handiness isn't as important because basically every defenseman is able to play either LD/RD. He could even potentially afford to trade some of his bottom forwards at 82-83. Quinn is a created sniper which generally sims well even at 76 overall. He could afford to play Quinn fourth line and see if he grows to 80-82. |
