I actually did it to help Chicago out. Before getting Dipietro, who's my favorite goalie prospect (Canucks fan), I had big plans for Werner. Chicago right now has 2 goalies that were waived. They're old and should be backups. Werner is a backup now, but actually has the potential to be a starting goalie, given his age.

I don’t really see how giving Chicago another goalie HELPS them at all. Especially at the cost of his best D prospect not in the NHL. It’s funny you’re saying that.

I honestly completely disagree. I'm not even slightly trying to take advantage. Saying it's his best prospect is a stretch, as he's a 20 year old that MAY be an 80 by the time he's 23. It's not about the amount of goalies, but the quality. And this is the best quality goalie he'll have in his arsenol.

His other goalies are between 26-32 years old with no chance of becoming starters (highest is an 83). 

I don't see how it's difficult to see that he's actually getting a good goalie prospect because that's what he needs. Goalies usually take longer to develop, and Werner could become his main starter in 1-2 years.

I never said you were trying to take advantage. I said it was funny you said you were helping him out. 

Regardless what Beaudin projects as, it IS his best D prospect not in the NHL. 

Why trade for something you have a ton of, at the expense of something he’s short on?
