And this time it was actually that contacted me since he wanted Varly. Then we tried to puzzle it to get it work with his cap and get me a player i wanted aswell

Reject, sometimes you have to protect people from themselves. This is horrible.
Varlamov is almost worthless, Milano and the 2nd are worthless and when the best thing you ae getting is Graves and you are giving up Anderson and Mete. Why can't you make a fair trade guys??

To clarify this trade a bit for you guys that reject and such.

To EDM:

G Semyon Varlamov HYB 86 (32) 5 UFA 2023 (EDM contacted me when he saw that i wanted to trade him away for picks or a defender. He wanted him so i started with the calcs to make it fit in to his small capspace left)
RD Ryan Graves DFD 83 (25) 3.166 UFA 2023 (To not leave him blank at the defender spots.)
LW/RW Sonny Milano TWF 79 (24) 1.7 UFA 2022 (To not make my cap go over limit aswell (atleast when i was doing calcs at the time, hard to keep track of both at the same time in the middle of the night))
BUF 2021 2ND RD (To make the deal more fair I also gave him this.)



To ANA:

LD Victor Mete TWD 79 (22) .735M RFA 2021 (Did not think about him beeing able to be moved to minors without waive.. my bad, did not need to be included. Really dont have any interest in him either. Also just for cap reasons)

I am fine with this trade, even thou i did some middle of night errors and i get 2 players i don't need but at the same time he takes 2 players i don't need/want also.

I understand the rejects, and if it will get final reject I will do my calcs better and dont include players that are not needed to be etc

And no I don't know why EDM wants such a highrated as a backup behind Markström. That one only he can answer

When it comes down to it, EDM already has a better G, and Varlamov could easily be downgraded, making that a weak contract.

Do to this, he moves his best D man, plus most valuable D asset (after moving a ton away)
Then downgrades on the 79 prospect, hurting his D core even more (Mete can easily be a top 4 D in 2-3 years)

I get Graves could/will be a solid 4. Milano could turn into a decent 3rd line W, but it just doesn't make sense lol

I mean, unless Edmonton really wants Varly that badly, it's not a horrible deal, nor is it unfair, really. Koski's contract could turn out to be just as weak as Varly's, so they're kind of a wash, and the rest is just cosmetic really. 🤷

Other than it not making much sense for the Oilers to move Andersson for Graves, even that's not horrible... We've seen way get put through.
