Yup, I think he will but probably only to an 86 based on this: Once players turn 27, they are at risk of a downgrade. Players 27-30 are not likely to be downgraded but are vulnerable based on performance.

Maybe Player Representative could answer this for us. If the seasoned ended today how much would Schwartz regress? If I'm interpreting the rules right it's saying that they're likely not to receive regression naturally, but it's open season when it comes to performance. Just because he's 28 doesn't mean in any way he'll get less of a hit from performance downgrades, I could be wrong though.

What value are we thinking for picks though? I figured I was overpaying this early. (As we should with Oilers)

If we take a 27 year old player

86-87 for top 5
84-85 for 5-8
82-83 for rest of lottery?

I mean we’re just guessing here right?

Should be able to get an 88 for a top 5 pick depending on age if upgrades are like hockleague. 18/19 year old top picks are gold in the league then

Should be able to get an 88 for a top 5 pick depending on age if upgrades are like hockleague. 18/19 year old top picks are gold in the league then

So an 87 going on an 86 in December seems fair

Well I have a contract ready to go if I knew exactly his OA at the end of the downgrades but I was waiting for those. He wants a contract

If that’s a top 3 pick he should be able to get almost an Eichel for it lol that’s how valuable top 3 picks are. Nobody is stupid enough to trade a top 3 pick for a pending ufa lol oh wait maybe they are

He's playing alongside Barzal and Landeskog, if he's not scoring beside those two guys he just flat out doesn't sim well.

You can promise all you want but realistically you have one franchise player, two stars, one top 6 player and depth. On D you have a top pairing and a 2nd pairing guy and depth. Your goaltending is rough, you have no prospects of value and zero picks.

Unless you're planning on moving McDavid for two big pieces (in which case PM me) there's not much you can do to get out of your position.
