Wondering if we should do a compliance buyout this offseason... one of the reason's that Free Agency is so good is because no one can afford to extend those players... and I'd be surprised if anyone has the cap to actually get them back.
With how the league is set up, we are upgrading A LOT of players and downgrading a few, this means that players are going to want raises but the cap is flat.
A compliance buyout would help make the league be what it is intended to be: a game where you trade and sign to make a fun team. A compliance buyout could see activity skyrocket.
If not, we could do something like 10%-15% paycut to each player, much like how players are taking a paycut in the current season.

To be fair everybody knew that there was going to be a flat cap for the first three seasons, people should've managed their caps better.
The average overall is definitely going up with upgrades you're right, but you also don't have to shell out a big money long term contract for all of your players. If nobody is willing to pay more for a free agent like Bergeron than a one year 6.5 Million bridge deal than that's what he'll get, it's what you're going to see this year in Free Agency irl - a bunch of guys signing cheaper bridge deals because teams don't have a lot of money.
Players are also only taking a paycut in their earnings, their actual cap hit is staying exactly the same.

We’re not doing a compliance buyout because teams don’t have cap. There are teams that have planned and managed appropriately, and they’re not going to be punished by flooding the market with buyers. Cap goes up next season. Next compliance buyout is 2025
