I didn't want to add more traffic to the draft thread, so I'm posting this here. I really wish Nashville just chose MacKinnon. This was a headache I didn't want So the first pick was supposed to be a "phenom". Pro Scout announced earlier this season that MacKinnon was the "next big thing" and he would get a special boost in rating. Well, when I posted the rookie upgrade thread, I didn't specify "MacKinnon" as the only player eligable to be upgraded to 86 OA, I simply put the "1st pick". Everyone knows what was implied, but Nashville can't really be faulted because it was my job to post the rule properly. It's a technicality for sure, and I'm annoyed by it, but I think the only way to be fair here is to allow Nashville's choice, but stick to MacKinnon's boost aswell. I hate to add two elite rookies in one season like that, but I don't think it would be fair to do it any other way. Nashville followed the rules, and MacKinnon is still the elite prospect he was before Nashville took Jones over him. Sorry for this guys, it sucks, I know... but I can't see a better way to resolve it. So both Jones and MacKinnon are eligable to be boosted to 86.

Both these guys are going to make massive impacts to their respective teams in year one, in real life. Good decision Devs.

This is okay by me. The thing I'm not okay with is the bitching I received after I picked Jones. I didn't see MacKinnon as a player I would use, and I saw it with Jones. I picked him, get over it, end of story, bye bye, see ya later

So if Nashville picked Max Domi and upgraded him to an 86, would that have been allowed?
Rules stated that MACKINNON could be upgraded to an 86, not the 1st overall pick.
but, it doesn't affect me, nor do I really care lmao

Holy shit, guys... Moles and Trolls.... Moles and Trolls... Nashville didn't do anything wrong by selecting Jones over MacKinnon. It could easily happen that way in the draft IRL too. Nashville did what was best for his team with HIS pick! Get over it. The added bonus now is that he gets him at an 86 due to a slight lack of clarity in what was posted about it specifically being MacKinnon that got the 86. It'd honestly be a fair ruling if Jones only got to be an 82 as well. That's the risks you take in drafting. You know a player is talented, but how talented depends on the player, not necessarily his Overall; especially in NHL13.
