Brooks Laich made him expendable considering we're not a contender this season. I consider this to be a rebuilding season. Backlund is a nice replacement center, to either switch to wing or as a third/fourth line center. Hopefully we can re-sign him. The 1st gives us another good prospect in this upcoming draft. Winnik gives us some depth on left wing for the fourth line. We expect Strome and Domi to be the future 1st/2nd line centers.
