There is a strict contract limit of 50 players signed at one time
You may also not have more than 23 players on your NHL roster at one time. Obviously not counting players on IR.
That leaves you 27 throughout AHL AND JRs.
Also, please update your roster contract info near your salary cap. example - 48/50 contracts

Nobody you’re going to be using. I had to drop very low players from AHL to FA list ONLY in season. The master rosters still have everyone because I can still put another 30 some odd players in AHL.
You need to clean it up though. It’s my bad for assuming people knew that. It’s not something you’re going to be penalized for right now. But it needs to be corrected through amateur buyouts, trades etc. But you’re not the only one

To be fair, I’m still working out the kinks this first season. I’ve never done this on quite this scale before. This is an inadvertent side effect of allowing 18-19 year olds in the AHL, and the huge prospect list I did for each team. I didn’t expect everyone to sign ALL of their players right away, lol. Just being honest. And I really thought everyone just kinda knew there was a 50 contract limit in the NHL

Iirc the one's that are do in fact count against the limit. Might be wrong on that, though. Either way it doesn't matter because they do in NHL 21 and that's what we're using 🤷

I’m pretty sure MTL is right. Players in junior are under rights being held, same as NCAA. But if they have signed, they count
Like I have 45 contracts right now, but also a few JR players that aren’t signed. It still sits at 45

From Capfriendly: "18 and 19 year old players who are in juniors and have not played more than 11 NHL games in a season do not count towards the SPC limit" I don't have NHL 21, but I know in NHL 20 they have exempt contracts. That said, at the end of the day, its Carolina Hurricanes GM 's call, I imagine having that many fewer contracts makes his life easier so probably easier to just do a 50 total limit.

They do offer that in Dynasty mode, but not in season mode. It’s just a flat limit for each team 23 NHL and 30 limit for the AHL team in season. And that’s obviously going to change when I start the AHL season because that has to be done separate. So I imagine there’s going to be a 23 player limit for your AHL team in season as well. Although, you can always have more than that here I guess, but they won’t make it into the sim at all Id rather just do a 50 straight contract limit. Just because keeping track of GP for every prospect might be difficult.
