This is a horrible trade and the people accepting this must not really be considering how bad it is. Perron was horrible at Edmonton before and now he's a year older. The other guys Edmonton is getting are trash. Pitt getting his firsts back is very valuable to him, especially considering he can afford to tank now. That retention is irrelevant cus Perron is already 33 and taking downgrades. Come on bruh

Gonna reject on this one. Two firsts from a team that's tanking nonetheless for an 86 overall pending UFA and a cap dump is just too much imo. I get Perron is making only 2 mil with the retention and Edmonton is in serious cap crunch, but two firsts from a team that's going to do everything in their power to lose is kind of insane.

Everybody is targeting him unfortunatly. it is a shame Yeah should not have been two 1sts in this deal. Yes EDM had cap issues. But not worth 2 first picks to get 2.35M less in cap. And there is no rush for him, I made the misstake and rushed my cap issue on day 1 when new contract hits came in my calcs. But that should not make anyone else do same or more stupid trades :/ I really don't understand how this one went thru, but the rules are 4 votes makes it final so we have to live with this one :/ |

There’s nothing wrong with the trade. Is it silly? Absolutely, just about every trade Edmonton makes is. He goes from trading Dadonov for a pick and prospect, to trading picks for Perron. Obviously nobody else would do this trade, but that doesn’t mean it’s not even value trade. You guys might not like Perron, but an 86 with a cap hit of 2M has value. Once again, too much value being put into draft picks instead of a certainty.

Sooooo......Thats the wrong cap hit for Jake Allen. Allen signed a contract extension before we started here, and I think Carolina Hurricanes GM accidently just put it at his current cap hit for the full duration. Allen should be 2.875 UFA 2023 Good that I finally noticed this after he's been traded about 4 times. Idk how many people factored in a cap dump in their accept of this trade, but now Edmonton is actually only dumping .875 in this deal. |
