9th ranked player from last year's draft is 86 OA now.
Not sure if anyone noticed but the league changed the draft this year, for some reason it mirrored how hockleague did their draft. Destroyed any value 2nd rd picks have.

Washington Capitals GM the 8th overall pick from last year already is a 84 after 1 season. The year before that the 8th overall is an 84 after 2 seasons. Also ya Letang could say that which would make a lot of sense since he’s old and would want to play for cups not play on a bottom 10 team from the year before CGY hasn’t received a lot of hits on Letang to the best of my knowledge. Letang is also stoked to head back to the East where travel is lighter, and easier. Gets a chance to play the mentor role Ok, so 84 after two seasons. They have 4 of those already. What if Letang puts up another 60, and Hughes matches that by playing with him? So next season BOS could be rolling an 87 on Letang, and 87-88 on Hughes. I think that is a more beneficial outcome for them, as opposed to hoping a 77 hits the league and blows up. But hey, we all see things differently! That’s why everyones teams are so unique. I really thought this was a pretty good deal for them. But no one really knows how the sim will treat it

You can just sign a cheap UFA to play 3rd or 4th line instead of waiting for your 2nd rd pick to develop. Unless that was on purpose and you wanted to slow the development of 2nd rd picks.

Ratings have gotten a little high, and there’s a good amount of cap space in play. It shouldn’t be a huge deal to have a little weaker draft (as a whole). It’s not a permanent thing, or a change in what we’re doing. Just a little weaker. Same upgrades apply, and MPU/APU can still be used the same. This crop of 2nds might take an extra season or so. Depending on how you allocate your stuff

I'm torn by this one, as I don't want Boston to continue to suck just because Van and NYI won't let them make this deal. However, there are FA's for Boston to sign to improve the NHL lineup and they'll be able to keep this 8th overall. I'll change my accept to a reject and let's move the draft along.

Thanks WSH. Not really sure on FA crop yet. So wasn’t sure if there would be a guy like him to snag. Still this works. Thanks for the input guys!

Problem with BOS is they need a GM to trade their players away, doing this trade still leaves them in the same spot but without their pick.
They need to do 1-2 trades were they trade 2 players for 1. Get a better player and clear out a roster spot. If CGY was trading Letang for 2 players from Bostons roster, then the trade would make sense for them. This trade just floods their team with more players that are not needed, Domi + Lazutin. Lazutin would be an AHL lifer on BOS.

Honestly I’m torn with this one, but I think the fact that it’s a non-gm team I’m going to lean towards reject.
I think just for straight value this is fine and Mikko raised some good points, but I think if we’re making trades for non-gm teams it should be an outright win for them. Boston isn’t very good, and having a bunch of boomers that the new GM would flip anyways is less enticing than a strong prospect pool imo - we saw this same thing with Minnesota where nobody wanted to touch it with a 10 foot pole because the roster sucked, was old, and they had a weak pipeline. I think this trade is kind of treading down that path again.
Just to reiterate, I’m fine with the trade itself, but I think we should be more stingy with the non-gm teams.
