It’s that time of year again. When all GMs become penny counters. Apparently, this type of thinking has led its way into a few negotiations this offseason.
Scheifele - Is it really possible that there has been a falling out in CGY? Several sources are telling me GM big stinky has actually attempted to offer a 1 year “show me what you’ve got son!” type of deal, sub 10M. You’ve gotta wonder if Scheifele, 30 years old, has been in love with his time in CGY so much that he would actually consider this. Not really sure that’s the case…
Saros - Guy had a hell of season being the backup. Word is he wants the starter job, and of course starter money $$$
Barzal - Seems strange to be typing this out. But it could happen. Negotiations remain contentions (I’m told by multiple sources within the Isle organization), and well as parties within the Barzal camp, he might have already played his last game in an Islanders jersey. Crazy times
