The Current Salary Cap/Floor is 81.5M/60.2M
THERE WILL BE A FLAT CAP OF 81.5M/60.2M FOR THE FIRST THREE SEASONS
The cap will be looked at before each season, and a decision will be made wether or not to increase
Cap Violations
Teams who are in violation of the salary cap (over cap or below floor) will have their best player suspended until fixed. If the best player's salary is not enough to get a team under the cap, that team will have their best two players suspended.
If a team in violation does not have their cap situation fixed by January 1st sim time, they forfeit their 1st round pick that season (or, if traded, their next available 1st).
Retention Rules
Each team is allowed a maximum of 3 RETENTIONS
MAXIMUM of 2 teams holding retention per contract
When making a trade involving a cap retention, or listing a player who has some of their cap retained on your roster, use this format:
Player -> TEAM retains Xm to Year
ie. RD Eric Johnson TWD 86 (32) 6M UFA 2023 -> ANA retains 2M to 2023
Player Salaries
Max Player Salary = 16.300M (20% of the salary cap)
Min Player Salary = 0.700M
Max ELC Salary = 3.775M
35+ Rule
Players that sign a contract at the age of 35+ will count towards the cap no matter what. Their cap hit will count fully whether they are bought-out or sent to the minors. This does NOT apply to players 35 and over who signed their contract at age 34 or younger. a "35+" will be put next to the players that signed their deals over the age of 35.
2-Way Contracts
2-Way Contracts are every deal 1M or under or if the player is a RFA at the expiry. Players will be an RFA until the age of 27 (players 26 and under at the end of their contract (age going into UFA) will be considered RFA).
Entry-Level Deals
Entry-Level Deals must be negotiated with PR
Teams will hold rights on players until the age of 23, where they will enter free agency
If a player is unsigned by 21, they may become more hesitant to sign and want to test UFA
ALL ELC will be 3 years and will not slide.
Junior players need a contract to play in the AHL
